The 59th Annual Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, showcasing 64 of some of the top
senior class basketball players in the country, was held at Churchland High School April 6 to 9.
The PIT is an event orchestrated by over a hundred volunteers that give their time to plan,
organize, and run one of the most nationally recognized post season basketball tournaments
for future NBA players. Our Sports Club is proud to sponsor a team each year and to have
Mahlon Parker, PIT Committeechair for over 25 years, Yale Dorsey, Benn Griffin, Gracie Van
Dyck, Wally Kidd, and even Mike Morris all the way from Corpus Christy Texas serve on the
PIT committee along with many other sports club members who have volunteered to help make
the tournament a yearly success. Thank you Mahlon and all the club members for your time and
dedication the PIT!
